Sight for Wight works in association with the national charity Guide Dogs to offer their My Guide service on the Island to our VI Members. The scheme matches a person living with sight loss with a My Guide volunteer, trained by the Sight for Wight team. By mutual agreement the VI Member and volunteer meet for a couple of hours every week to work on agreed aims, goals and confidence.
The scheme is ideal for anyone living with sight loss who would like to improve their independence. Maybe you would like to join a local hobby group but need some assistance familiarising yourself with the area. Or you would like to learn a route to your local shops. With your My Guide volunteer you can realise these aims.
